{Menu Monday} September 19

Oh y'all! I don't know if any of you tried any of those new recipes last week, but there were some definite winners! In fact, none of them were duds. The Chicken Alfredo Bake was delicious! I actually used eggplant instead of squash, but it was perfect. And oooohhh my, the Marinated Ranch Chicken was SO good. I baked it most of the way, since I already had cornbread in the oven, but broiled for a few minutes to get a delicious browned crust on top. You must try that recipe! But my hands-down favorite was the pork chops. I actually ended up going with a different recipe than the original Paprika Pork Chops I had listed (though Susan said those were great too), and I converted it to a crock pot recipe (can you say easy?!). I ended up making Smoky Pork Chops and slow cooked them for about 6 hours. Oh. My. Word. I am in love. And I have another bag of chops in the freezer. Those will be coming out soon. :D

Ok, on to the new recipes. This week is Zack's birthday, so that means I get two cooking-free nights! Tonight we are going on a date (wahoo!), and Friday will be a birthday dinner with his family (for which I will be making the world's best chocolate cake. Seriously.) I'm trying a couple of soups this week too. (please come quickly, fall!!!!)

Monday - Date night!
Tuesday - Chili Dogs, Applesauce (because not every meal can be healthy! ha!)
Wednesday - Beef Barley Vegetable SoupCornbread
Thusrday - Pizza with Squash Crust, Caesar Salad
Friday - Birthday dinner, Chocolate Cake

Oh -- and if you're looking for a great way to organize your recipes and make menus, check out my SayMmm tutorial.
