{Our Love Story} An Anniversary & Dating Resources

My husband and I are celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary today! So many thoughts and emotions have been running through my mind the last couple of days as I've looked back on our journey together so far. All I can say is that I married an amazing man! I am SO thankful that God brought us together, and that my husband (before he became my husband) did everything he could to court me and win my heart. And what's truly amazing is that he continues to "fight" for our marriage and our family every day. He reminds me so much of Boaz (Ruth's husband) in the Bible --he's a protector and provider...and his kindness and humility continue to astonish me!

One thing I did while we were dating was compile all of our letters to each other (and poems...yes, my husband wrote me poems--shhh--don't tell!) together into a little book that I called "Our Love Story." I am so glad I did this, because now I can look back and read all the wonderful things we said to each other. I highly recommend all engaged or married couples do this! I was reading our love letters to each other today, and just marveling at what a great guy I married. :-)

Anyway, I've also been trying to plan our anniversary date. I want it to be special yet budget-friendly. I've got several ideas running through my head, so I'll probably do another post next week on what we end up doing. I thought I'd share a few things I've found while researching online since Valentine's Day is just around the corner AND since we all need to be intentional about keeping romance in our marriages! :-) One of my goals this year is to plan weekly dates, and the following blogs are GREAT resources for ideas on dates. Also, not too long ago, our very own Defrump Me blogger Susan shared an idea for making a date at home extra special. I'm definitely gonna do something similar for our anniversary date! Click HERE to see what she did.

(P.S. In case my husband reads this...I love you, honey!)
