(Did I Pin a Win?) Katniss Everdeen Braid

Some of you may know about my obsession with all things teeny-bop....Therefore, you've probably already deduced that I went to see The Hunger Games on opening day.  Yes, I wore my Katniss combat boots, and yes, I wore my Hunger Games special edition China Glaze, Riveting, nail polish my bestie Sara sent me from China. However, I decided not to wear a braid because I didn't want to go Katniss overboard right?

After the movie, I couldn't stop myself from looking for the infamous "Katniss braid" on Pinterest when Susan suggested we do a week long review of Pinterest pins.

Katniss and Gale

I came across multiple "Katniss braid" pins, but I chose this one because it had a video to go along with it.

After watching the video one time, not really paying attention due to crying babies, I attempted the braid, and this is what I got.

Not bad, but a little weirdish on  the front part.  So I tried a second time.

yeah, my face....

This was a bit better, but it didn't look like the braid in the video. Mine was much looser.

I decided to re-watch the video once all of the kiddos were asleep for their naps, and it paid off.

I was able to finally figure out the reverse braid, which is actually super easy, and my braid was much tighter.  I did loosen it a bit so it wouldn't look and feel too tight.

So my O "Pin" Yun opinion of this pin...... EXCELLENT!  The woman in the video did a great job taking me step-by-step, and she even had a companion video to show how to do the reverse braid.

Give it a shot and see what ya think.

And may the odds be ever in your favor.
