{Menu Monday} The pain begins...

This is exactly how I feel.
Well, the time has come. I am at that point postpartum where I feel myself about to tip over into the I-hate-my-flabby-dairy-cow-body-so-I-might-as-well-eat-whatever-I-want stage. (Sorry for all the hyphens; my grammar training won't let me go.) But not this time!! I always GAIN weight while nursing a baby, but I won't let it happen again! So, starting this week (I started Saturday actually), I am doing Phase 1 of the South Beach diet. This is a 2-week phase, and while I am going kicking and screaming, I am determined. (Fortunately, my mom is doing it with me -- it's so much easier when you have someone to commiserate with!)

I have found that the main key to success for me is planning. If I have a plan, I can stick to it. But if I leave my decision-making up to my impulses, I will go down every time. So I'm shaking things up a little bit with my menu this week. For at least the next two weeks while I'm in Phase 1, I will be sharing my breakfast and lunch menus as well. Saturday I crockpotted (word?) a whole bunch of chicken, which is now shredded in my fridge. I'll be making good use of it this week.

  2. Awesome. I just found you guys. Hilarious!! My 4th baby is 5 months old. I ate whatever I wanted for 2 months and then I just had to stop. So, now I lost 10 pounds. Go me, but I still want Dr. Pepper all the time.=) Good luck! Planning does work. I have lost 50 lbs, 20 lbs, 10 lbs all at different times. Eat healthy and exercise. Works every time.=)
