There's a Spa in Your Pantry! {Recipes & More}

Back in July, the Defrump Me girls had the privilege of speaking to a group of ladies at our church's annual women's conference. We had a great time preparing and giving our little tips on defrumping in our main areas - home, diet, style, and heart.

Audrey already shared with you the Mod Podge craft she introduced to the ladies (who stayed up until midnight creating their lovely plaques!!)

Lauren helped everyone plan menus - another popular activity.

And Amber shared some basic body shape tips and fashion myths - very enlightening!

For my part, I took the opportunity to share some spa recipes and all about the importance of drinking plenty of water. I've touched on this already here on the blog. Since the conference was in the middle of the hottest July in years, I don't think it was too hard to convince the ladies to wet their whistles, but for added incentive, I did a little research to find some ways to spruce up plain ol' water. And I think we found some winners!

I prepared 4 options for the ladies to try out (and we called it Spa Water to make it feel all girly-pampery):

Berry Minty — Strawberries vertically halved with stems left on, blueberries, and a few lightly crushed fresh mint leaves.

Lemon Berry — Strawberries vertically halved with stems left on and lemon slices.

Blueberry Watermelon — Cubed watermelon and fresh blueberry.

Cool Cucumber — Cucumber slices, lemon slices, and a few lightly crushed fresh mint leaves.

Everyone really enjoyed having something besides basic water or lemon water and there were requests for seconds and thirds once the first pitchers were emptied. I think the most votes for favorite option was the Cool Cucumber - very refreshing! But they were all beautiful and tasty!

The Spa Water thing is really easy, and it makes a great addition to your next gal party or shower (though, Hubster has been known to partake in fruity water when given the option).

I don't know what I was thinking (probably just having a blast with my girlfriends!), and I forgot to get pictures of the actual pitchers that we prepared, but these borrowed images are pretty close. :-)

Besides the Spa Water special, I also prepared some samples of homemade body scrubs including a Citrus Salt Scrub, a Natural Lip Exfoliator, a Chocolate Body Scrub (that looks and tastes like brownie dough!), and a Brown Sugar Oatmeal Scrub.

And now, you get to get a taste of the experience in this handout that I prepared! It's got all the homemade scrub recipes, water facts, and even more ideas for flavored spa water.

Spa Recipes Handout

I really hope that you are inspired to enjoy and soak up one of God's amazing gifts to us - WATER! And while you are getting your physical fill, go ahead and ask for that Living Water (John 7:37-38)!
