Fall Paper Lanterns

I have been so out of the blogging picture lately! I've missed it, but life has been pretty crazy. Just in the last month, my husband and I both were admitted to the hospital on different occasions (we are both fine, by the way); and my baby is due any day now! Between hospital visits, doctor visits, home projects (like getting the nursery ready for a newborn!), and regular day-to-day stuff, I've been somewhat overwhelmed! But I know God is in control, so I'm trying not to stress. :-)

Amidst the chaos, my poor boys have not been getting their mom's full attention; and I feel really badly for them. So, one day last week, I decided to show them how to make paper lanterns. I loved making these as a child, and I've been wanting to do some kind of craft project with them this fall! But it had to be easy and cheap...these paper lanterns fit the bill.

The boys loved making the lanterns! My 5-year old was able to make them all by himself after I helped him with a few. My 3-year old, not so much; but he still had fun counting them and helping where he could. :-) I had some fall-themed scrapbook paper that we used for some of them and they really turned out cute! After we had eight lanterns made, I hung them on a garland in the boys' bedroom. What a fun project!

I don't have time to include a tutorial on how to make these paper lanterns, but I'm sure it would be easy to find the directions online somewhere. Hope you can snag a few minutes to make this cute and easy craft with your kiddos!

Blessings, friends!
