5-Minute-a-Day Bread {You can do it!}

Lauren shared the refrigerated dough method of daily bread baking with us about a month ago on our Facebook page. We had talked about it earlier in the week and both thought it looked worth a shot.

I made my first batch of dough (in less than 10 minutes) last Sunday, spent less than 7 minutes total Monday preparing to bake my first loaf (rising and baking took another 45 and 25 minutes respectively), and it was an automatic hit! We had 3 wonderful loaves (and one loaf I killed by dozing off during naptime) from that first batch and I made more this past weekend. I followed the instructions for "lazy sourdough" by not washing my container, and this week's loaves have been the best yet!

Now, Lauren is our resident expert at bread-baking, but even a novice like me can make fresh, homemade, delicious-smelling and tasting artisan bread! And it really does take only about 5 minutes a day!

My husband commented the other night that the first day or two the bread was really good but he thought maybe he'd get tired of it. He said that instead it just keeps being yummy and delicious!

  1. I love making bread. So soothing to me! I'm a huge carb-aholic so it's wonderful. I've been meaning to start trying this 5 minute thing. You're just the kick in the pants I needed!
