A basket of books under the tree....

You know that really cool idea where you wrap 24 Christmas books and put them under the tree? Then each night in December your kiddos get to open a book and you read it together as a family. Ahhh....that gives me warm fuzzies....

Only problem is it's not very realistic for me! For one thing, can you imagine wrapping that much of anything? I just plain hate wrapping presents. If you love wrapping presents, then go for it! It's a great idea.

But here's another quick and easy idea for those of us who get overwhelmed with the thought of all that wrapping...

Just gather all your Christmas books and put them in a pretty basket under your Christmas tree. Then pick one out to read each night or whenever you want. And if you want to take it to the next level, you could even let the kiddos decorate a special box with Christmas paper just for the occasion and put the books in that!

A basket of books under the tree is great way to get those special family moments (and those warm fuzzies) for a LOT less work.

That's worth something in my book!

And that's a wrap!

;-)

  1. This is a great idea! So doing this next year, even though we don't have kids. My boyfriend is finishing law school this year so we don't get to get fully into the holidays (yet!).

    I do All Hallow's Read.
