Emmanuel, be God with us
I had a fun, quick Christmas gift post for today, but instead, I just want to grieve with the families facing this unimaginable, senseless tragedy in Connecticut. Our mama hearts are all totally broken over the loss of those babies' lives and the courageous men and women protecting them. I pray that the comfort of Jesus overwhelms those families, and that they feel His presence draw near to them. I mourn that we live in a world so full of evil and hate, but I choose to let it cause me to turn to Jesus, who is the Author of peace, love, compassion, and holiness. I praise God for the countless brave police officers, fire fighters, and other emergency responders who rushed in to help in such a horrific situation. And I know that where evil is so dark and present, the Light of the World shines that much brighter.
Psalms 62:8 ~ Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
