How are y'all doing with your New Year's goals? Is it starting to get hard? Just remember, it's a journey. It takes time! But you've got to keep chugging along even if you do hit a few bumps as you go.
Case in point: I am on week 4 of my weight loss journey. My goal is to lose 20 pounds by my birthday (April 28). I realize that's a very ambitious goal, especially since I'm a nursing mom. It may not even be possible! But that's what I'm working toward, and I know I'll be better off by my birthday no matter what the scale says.
|This will be so great to put on my salads during the week!|
(Back to my case in point...) However, this last week I did cave in to some major temptations! This last Sunday we went to both sides of the family (mine and my husband's) for TWO different birthday parties. I completely lost control and had 3 pieces of cake, some ice-cream, and 2 pieces of pizza (aghhh!!!)!! I'm so embarrassed to even admit that to y'all. Oh my! The shame. But instead of giving up because I had failed so miserably, I just started fresh again on Monday and have been eating healthy and sticking to my Weight Watchers points the last couple of days. Yay! I "weigh in" on Thursday (on my own little scale), and I'm curious to see if I've lost anything. I hope I have!! So far I've lost 5 pounds in the first 3 weeks. I'm very pleased with this progress!
I wanted to show you my WW (Weight Watchers) discovery of last week...chicken tenders! They are already pre-portioned and are only 1 point each. Awesome! I found this box in the freezer section of my neighborhood Walmart. Can't wait to try them out!
I also started back at my fitness gym today. I walked/ran (umm....barely ran) for 30 minutes. Then I did upper body reps with 3 pound weights for about 12 minutes and abs for about 5. Wow, did it feel good!! I'm sure I'll be sore tomorrow though. :-) Oh, and my boys did really good in the childcare room! Even little William. :-)
|Do you have a weekly workout plan?|
Here's another fun motivational idea. Susan got each of us Defrump Me gals a little $1 weekly planner with tear-off sheets for each week. I was trying to decide how to use it, and today I figured it out! I'm gonna use it to plan my weekly workouts. I like variety, so this works well for me. I've got plans to walk with Leslie Sansone, shred it with Jillian Michaels, and then I'm gonna try (I'm so nervous!) a dance pilates class at my gym with a friend. Plus, if the weather's nice at all, I plan to enjoy some more scenic walks too! I'll let you know how I do this week! By the way, Leslie Sansone has started a 1-mile-a-day walking challenge if you're interested. Check it out HERE.
So, I've been very inspired by Susan, Lauren, and Amber! They have all been eating so healthy and exercising. I'm telling you, the best thing you can do for yourself is get a good support group for your weight loss journey. It makes things so much fun and lots easier!
I've got so many more ideas to share in the weeks to come, and I also want to start talking about my plans for organizing the garage! Oh my goodness! That's gonna be a HUGE job. :-)
Hope y'all join me on your own weight loss/becoming healthier journey! Let me know what you're up to!
